Finding counselling should not require hours of searching, unanswered messages and uncertainty about who can actually help.
Why BeCounselled exists
BeCounselled was created to make the first step toward counselling clearer. Instead of asking people to interpret dozens of profiles and therapy terms, we begin with practical questions: What kind of support are you looking for? When are you available? What can you afford? Do you need a particular provider credential for extended-health coverage?
The service is being built first for British Columbia, with particular attention to people living outside the largest urban centres. Online counselling cannot solve every access problem, but it can widen the available choices for someone who would otherwise face limited local options or significant travel.
Who operates BeCounselled
BeCounselled is operated in British Columbia by Nathan Marshall-Fox. General and privacy questions can be sent through the contact page.
Clear
Plain language, transparent relationships and realistic expectations.
Human
Matching requests are reviewed by a person rather than treated as an advertising click.
Accessible
A BC-wide online model designed to reach regional and remote communities.
How the network works
BeCounselled works with participating counselling providers. Depending on fit and availability, a request may be matched with a counsellor affiliated with BeCounselled or with an independent participating provider. Participating providers remain responsible for their own professional services, informed consent, fees, records and clinical decisions.
BeCounselled does not present itself as a government program, health authority, emergency service or independent regulator. It is a counselling matching and marketing platform.
What to confirm before booking
BeCounselled does not license or regulate participating providers. Before booking, confirm the proposed counsellor’s current professional designation, ability to practise in British Columbia, fees, privacy and informed-consent terms, and whether their credential meets your benefits plan’s requirements.
